Have some fun and write for 20 minutes a day...

The red beret slumped on his forehead as the familiar frown appeared. His slate grey, piggy eyes narrowed and averted her gaze. She was getting used to this frown, this look of deep concentration. He used it when he was giving serious thought to something…or so she  had thought.  Then she realized it was the expression he used when he tried to conjure up yet another lie. What he didn’t realize was that she was on to him, and the frown became a source of amusement, even victory, for her. She could torment him by asking a tricky question and watch as he tried to remember what he’d already told her.  Not being smart enough, his frown eventually turned to rage as he slowly realized that he’d been out-witted - again. All he could do then was swear at her, and with his swearing, the ridiculous red beret took on a life of its own, bouncing around on his shiny hairless head.
